SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Steinway & Sons is proudly committed to creating a diverse, inclusive and equitable environment in all aspects of our business; to environmentally sustainable manufacturing; and to supporting partner organizations which provide music educational opportunities and instruction across a spectrum of circumstance, age group, and musical tradition.
Steinway & Sons is proud to partner with a number of organizations that expand the reach of music education by bringing in-school programming to life, as well as providing sustained, in-depth learning experiences for young musicians. Steinway enjoys a host of collaborative partnerships with cultural institutions as well. Through its sponsorship programs, we provide access to Steinways in education settings, community events, historic performance venues, and the stages and advanced training programs of summer music festivals.

ALJA embraces its mission with a commitment to social justice, equity, inclusion, and the equality of all cultures worldwide. The Alliance implements its mission with the core values of cultural inclusiveness, groundbreaking creativity, unremitting social excellence, and purposeful engagement.
Steinway & Sons is honored to support their work, providing pianos for recording sessions and performances by the Afro Latin Jazz Alliance Orchestra, their students, and their guest artists. Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS
Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, the philanthropic heart of Broadway and the performing arts, is rooted in its commitment to providing for those who've been isolated, marginalized and oppressed. Whether it's facing the ongoing HIV/AIDS epidemic, today’s COVID-19 challenges and issues of equity and equality, Broadway Cares continued to be committed long term to making a tangible difference for those facing overwhelming challenges. Supporters of Broadway Cares provide access to health care, lifesaving medication, nutritious meals and emergency financial assistance for those in need in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C. Steinway & Sons has long supported Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS in its mission, providing pianos for fundraising events and celebratory performances. In June 2021, Steinway partnered with Broadway Cares to raise funds for these essential services – donating a portion of all sales in US retail stores to help support those struggling today.
Lang Lang International Music Foundation
The Lang Lang International Music Foundation’s unique programs encourage music performance at all levels as a means of social and emotional development for today’s youth. From their enormously successful program, Keys of Inspiration — a replicable and innovative music education program designed to redefine what music education looks like in public schools, all the way to their Young Scholars program — a powerful education initiative designed to identify and support talented young pianists in their professional development, the LLIMF stays true to its mission. By igniting a child’s passion for music, they are helping children worldwide aim for a better future.
Steinway & Sons proudly provides pianos and spaces for a number of the Lang Lang International Music Foundation’s educational initiatives, workshops, and performances. Below, LLIMF students from across the world perform a special arrangement of “We’re All In This Together” (written by Matthew Gerrard & Robbie Nevil, published by Walt Disney Music Company, piano & choral arrangement by Francisco J. Núñez), with the Young People's Chorus of New York City in a powerful example of making music while apart.
Louis Armstrong House Museum
The Louis Armstrong House Museum & Archives sustains and promotes the cultural, historical, and humanitarian legacy of Louis Armstrong by preserving and interpreting Armstrong’s house and grounds, collecting and sharing archival materials that document Armstrong’s life and legacy, and presenting public programs such as exhibits, concerts, lectures, and film screenings. Steinway is proud to support the Museum, by providing pianos for its educational programs, performances, and commissioned works, aiding in its mission to educate and inspire people of all ages, origins, and locations.
Armstrong Now, a new initiative of the Louis Armstrong House Museum, re-introduces audiences everywhere to Louis Armstrong's legacy of artistic excellence, innovation and community collaboration. Through a nuanced engagement with the Armstrong home and Archives, some of the world’s leading Black artists delve into the complexities of the cultural icon, responding with new work that encapsulates their own journey. Below, Steinway Artist Christian Sands and choreographer Martha Nichols respond to the archives in Armstrong's garden.
