Careers at Steinway & Sons
Since 1853, Steinway & Sons has been synonymous with quality. We make the finest pianos in the world and are the undisputed standard by which other pianos are judged. Steinway remains the choice of nine out of ten concert artists, and is the preferred piano of countless musicians, professional and amateur.
Build your future with an American icon.
Steinway & Sons was founded in Manhattan in 1853 by Henry Engelhard Steinway. Henry and his five sons developed the modern piano and shaped the future of the piano industry. They built their pianos one at a time, applying skills handed down from master to apprentice, generation after generation. Today, Steinways are still built in one of two company-owned and operated factories: Astoria, New York, and Hamburg, Germany. While our pianos are still constructed primarily by hand, using techniques developed 170 years ago, we have also incorporated cutting-edge technology into our instruments. The result is the world’s finest piano.
Steinway & Sons offers exceptional, music-loving candidates the opportunity to produce, sell and support our iconic, unparalleled instruments — while interacting with some of the world’s finest musicians. Along with roles in our corporate or manufacturing teams, we offer unique long-term opportunities with high-earning potential within our sales organization. With dealer and retail locations across the country, we seek candidates with strong sales and customer service experience. Our company-owned showrooms are located in New York City, New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Washington, and California.
At Steinway & Sons, we believe learning is an essential part of every role. We are committed to helping our employees develop the knowledge and skills needed for future growth through on-the-job learning as well as participation in more formalized training and development programs. We support leadership and professional skills development and offer a range of training programs from retail sales to steinway piano technician support.
