Steinway & Sons honors Gary Graffman
Steinway & Sons has been a constant companion in Gary Graffman’s life since the age of seven, when he received his first Steinway piano from the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. To help celebrate his 90th birthday at the Kimmel Center, the legendary Steinway Artist accepted a gold-plated Steinway Lyre from Gabrielle Kazze Rinaldi, Executive Vice President, Jacobs Music Company, and Vivian Chiu, Director of Cultural Partnerships and Artist Services at Steinway & Sons. Reflecting on the occasion, Graffman said that next to his wife, Naomi, the two closest things to him are The Curtis Institute and Steinway & Sons.
