Van Cliburn Competition To Showcase Steinway In Streaming Video

Beginning Friday, May 22, The Thirteenth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, featuring Steinway & Sons pianos exclusively, will be streamed live in its entirety at www.cliburn.tv. The Fort Worth, Texas competition will feature twenty-nine pianists vying for prizes valued at more than $1,000,000. Pianist and arts advocate Jade Simmons will host the webcast for the duration of the competition, which concludes on June 7.

The competitors, a group of twenty-nine accomplished pianists ranging in age from 19 to 30 and representing countries all over the world, were selected after performing in cities including Shanghai, China; Hannover, Germany; Lugano, Switzerland; St. Petersburg, Russia; New York, New York; and Fort Worth, Texas. The Van Cliburn International Piano Competition is an exclusive Steinway event. Each pianist in the competition will choose to perform on one of three Steinway pianos—all three pianos are identical Model D concert grands.
