Seong-Jin Cho’s Victory on a Steinway & Sons Model D Piano is the Latest for the Renowned Piano Manufacturer
New York, NY — October 21, 2015 — Steinway & Sons, manufacturer of the world’s finest pianos, was selected as the piano of choice by Seong-Jin Cho of Korea, winner of the 17th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition, which was announced October 20, 2015. Since 1927 the competition has been held every five years in Warsaw, Poland, and is considered to be amongst the most esteemed competitions in the music world. Seong-Jin Cho attained his victory over nine other finalists on a Steinway & Sons Model D piano following three solo rounds and a performance of Chopin‘s Concerto in E minor op. 11, accompanied by the Warsaw Philharmonic, conducted by Maestro Jacek Kasprzyk.
As a testament to the unparalleled quality and craftsmanship of Steinway & Sons pianos, this is the latest of many wins for Steinway & Sons at top-tier international piano competitions. To date in 2015, Steinway & Sons has been the piano used to secure victories at over 70% of the world’s most prestigious contests, primarily those sanctioned by the World Federation of International Music Competitions.
