About the Artists

Jenny Lin is one of the most respected young pianists today, admired for her adventurous programming and charismatic stage presence. Her orchestral engagements have included the American Symphony Orchestra, NDR and SWR German Radio orchestras, and Orchestra Sinfonica Nationale della RAI. Her concerts have taken her to Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, Kennedy Center, MoMA, and National Gallery of Art, appearing at Festivals such as Mostly Mozart, BAM’s Next Wave, Spoleto/USA, Kings Place London, Chopin Festival Austria, and Schleswig-Holstein Festival Germany. She made her debut in Lincoln Center’s Great Performers Series in the fall of 2017.

Weihui Mao made her debut with the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra in 1988 and moved to the U.S. a year later to start her career as a performer. With several top prizes from international and national piano competitions on her resume, Mao completed her bachelor’s degree at the University of Utah, and with an extensive repertoire, worldwide critical acclaim and a doctorate of musical arts from the University of Southern California, under and guidance of Ms. Antoinette Perry. Mao is considered one of the most respected pianists and educators of her generation. Her unique expression of occidental and oriental charm has thrilled audiences throughout Asia, Europe and the U.S., including appearing as a soloist with more than 50 symphony orchestras worldwide.

Simon Mulligan is, according to the Times of London ‘the most abundantly gifted of pianists.’ Pulitzer prizewinning composer Paul Moravec calls him ‘a pianist with complete mastery of the instrument’, while Herbie Hancock says ‘You have a phenomenal touch, man!’ In addition to his extensive discography and vast repertoire, Mulligan’s solo work gains praise from critics and audiences alike, and his collaborations include performances and recordings with Yehudi Menuhin, Joshua Bell, Leonard Slatkin and Sting. He has performed all over the world, most notably at Carnegie Hall in New York, the Wigmore Hall and Royal Albert Hall in London, Suntory Hall in Tokyo, as well as private performances for Her Majesty the Queen and President Barack Obama. His keen interest in film composition led to a long association with composer Michael Kamen, culminating in his performance on the soundtrack to Spielberg’s Band of Brothers. He has led his own jazz quartet since he was thirteen, which has performed in major international festivals. His eclectic work has led to profiles in Downbeat, JazzTimes, BBC Music, Classic FM and Gramophone magazines, among others. Simon is a recipient of the prestigious Fellowship of the Royal Academy of Music, and his teachers include Alexander Kelly, Murray Perahia, Alfred Brendel and Alexis Weissenberg.

Yu Zhang-Koslovsky received her Doctoral of Musical Arts Degree from The Juilliard School in 2011. Currently a faculty member of the City College of City University of New York, Dr. Zhang enjoys teaching music in classroom as well as making music on stage. As a performer, she gave concerts in major cities of the United States, Europe, and Asia. At age twenty, she was presented in the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall by the New York State Piano Teachers Association, from whom she received “Outstanding Achievements in the Arts” award. Dr. Zhang performed solo recitals with the International Piano Festivals in Paris, Canary Islands, Barcelona, Vila-Seca, and concertos with Tenerife Symphony Orchestra of Spain under conductor David Gilbert.
