Lifei Weng started her piano studies with Prof. Galina Popova at seven. After that, she attended Shenzhen Art School at the age of twelve, studied with Prof. Yongze Kang and Prof. Benaat Beheydt. In 2016, she was admitted to the Royal College of Music and studied with the head of keyboard, Prof. Vanessa Latarche. After she received her Bachelor's degree (first class honours) and Master's degree (distinction) in 2020 and 2022, she has been offered a place on the Artist Diploma in Performance programme to continue her studies under the mentorship of Prof. Vanessa Latarche and Russian pianist Prof. Sofya Gulyak at RCM.

At the age of 15, she went to Poland to perform Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 2 in F minor with the Amadeus Chamber Orchestra of Polish Radio. In 2016 and 2017, she was invited to perform at the Canyamel Music Festival in Spain for two consecutive years. She has also appeared in many charity concerts such as  Afternoon Tea Time and Beautiful Sunday concerts series held by Shenzhen Concert Hall in China. During her stay in the UK, she gave recitals at St Mary's Church Sunbury-on-Thames, St Mary Abbots Church, St George's Church, The Lansdowne Club, Amaryllis Fleming Concert hall and many other venues.

Lifei won the 1st prize at the Steinway and Sons Piano Competition in the South China area, the 1st prize at the 19th Hongkong-Asia Piano Open Competition, and the 2nd prize at the Polish Elevato Piano Competition. And she also received funding supported by Cosmina and Douglas Liversidge Award, RCM Study Award, KMEG Scholar and William Mealings Scholar.
