Doris Wan Tong Li
Young Steinway Artist Doris Wan Tong Li is a gifted pianist whose captivating performances and profound musicality have captivated audiences worldwide. Born and raised in a musically inclined family, her journey with the piano began at a tender age, revealing a natural talent that would shape her life's path. With unwavering dedication, Doris honed her skills under the tutelage of renowned mentors, immersing herself in the rich tradition of classical music while also exploring various genres and styles. She is gifted in piano and plays the violin at the age of ten and started ballet, contemporary and Chinese dance at the age of three. Recognized for her achievements, Doris has received numerous awards throughout her career, a further testament to her exceptional talent and dedication to her craft.
Beyond her performances, she is committed to sharing her love for music through teaching and inspiring the next generation of musicians. She has also been involved in various charity fundraising concerts throughout her career, along with her she has also been an international volunteer music teacher for several years. She has finished her ARCT diploma and is currently studying LRCM performance and preparing for University auditions. She started teaching piano at the age of 13 and is continuing her career as a teacher to this day. Her students have won many top prizes, including the OYMI International Outstanding Musicians festivals tour chance and the Steinway Piano Competition. Her talent in piano shows her achievements, and she has accomplished many awards and honours. Listed are her most recent accomplishments: first prize at the GOCAA Global Finals in 2018; awarded the 2019 Steinway Young Artist Exemplary Award; awarded the OYMI International Outstanding Musicians Festival Outstanding Instructor from 2018 to this day; won the GOCAA International Piano Competition Excellent Tutor Award from 2020-2022; participated in the Steinway Cup Challenge and have been awarded the final Steinway Cup; opened her first online Non-profit concert in July 14, 2021; and opened her second concert in March 6, 2022. In March 2023, she participated in the 2023 Malaysia Canada International Cultural Arts Education Exchange and was chosen to play with the Malaysia Selangor Philharmonic Orchestra. Doris was also recognized as the 2023 Malaysia Canada Youth Ambassador and the 2023 Malaysia Canada International Outstanding Young Musician. In August 2023, she will participate in the Vancouver Piano Sessions to deepen her musical studies. Doris has a long way and a lot to show to the world.
