Clara Isabella Siegle
Clara Isabella Siegle, born in 2000, has been studying piano at the University for Music and Performing Arts in Munich, Germany, with Prof. Antti Siirala since 2017. In 2019/20, she is spending one year at the Royal Academy of Music working with Prof. Christopher Elton. She was taught by her mother, Mary Siegle-Collins, from 2004 until 2014, before attending the Young Student Programme of the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich as a student of Prof. Thomas Böckheler. Clara is a Young Steinway Artist and a scholarship holder of the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben (German Music Life Foundation). She is also supported by Yehudi Menuhin Life Music Now.
Clara is a prizewinner of numerous national and international piano competitions. She received 1st prizes and special prizes at “Jugend Musiziert” (“Young Musician”), at the Rotary-Competition in Essen, the Grotrian-Steinweg Competition in Braunschweig and the Steinway Piano Competition, as a result of which she was invited to perform in the prestigious Laeisz-Halle in Hamburg at the International Steinway Festival.
She also received prizes at the International Competition for Young Pianists Ettlingen, the International Piano Competition Enschede, the Robert-Schumann Piano Competition in Zwickau, the International Robert Schumann Competition in Dusseldorf and at the International MozARTe Piano Competition in Aachen.
Clara has given recitals and performed in festivals in China, Ireland, Switzerland, Italy, Denmark and The Netherlands. Performances have been broadcast on German and Italian radio (RAI, BR, WDR3). Clara has also been awarded a Gold Recital Medal by the Royal Irish Academy of Music, Dublin.
She has participated in masterclasses with Pavel Gililov, Bernd Glemser, Christopher Elton, Andrea Bonatta, John Lill, Elisso Wirssaladze, Klaus Kaufmann, Eva Kupiec, Finghin Collins and Andreas Weber. In May 2017, she was invited to a masterclass with Rudolf Buchbinder by the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra.
In 2018, Clara regularly gave solo recitals and performed Beethoven´s Triple Concerto with the Hochschulsymphonieorchester Munich under the baton of Marcus Bosch and Tchaikovsky´s 1st Piano Concerto with the Philharmonie Südwestfalen under Carlos Domínguez-Nieto. Performances in 2019 include the piano concertos by Grieg and Clara Schumann, the latter in the famous Herkulessaal in Munich, and numerous solo recitals.
